Road Sawing/Cutting
Road Sawing, also known as slab sawing or floor sawing, refers to large self propelled concrete saws that are fitted with diamond blades. They are used to cut horizontal flat surfaces.

Road Sawing in Sydney, also known as slab sawing or floor sawing, refers to large self propelled concrete saws that are fitted with diamond blades. They are used to cut horizontal flat surfaces such as concrete floors, tiles, pavers, cobble stone, bridge decks, roadways and pavement.
Water is used to cool the blade and keep the area dust free. We are meticulous about keeping our work areas clean. The water is vacuumed up and properly disposed of so that the site is always neat and clean.
Road saws are used to cut large areas of concrete floors and bitumen roads.
Typical Floor Saw applications may include:
- Removal of existing concrete slab, damaged pavement
- Trenching for new pipe or cables in existing floor
- Cutting out of old kerbs and gutters
- Expansion cutting for large areas of concrete
- Removing damaged pavement sections
- Access utilities without damage
- Motorway construction
- Loop cutting
There are two types of concrete saws:
- Diesel Saw, which cut to a depth of 600mm. Used for all works where ventilation is not an issue.
- Electric Saw, which cut to a depth of 550mm. Used for all cutting works inside buildings, where ventilation is not adequate. 32 amps, 3 phase power is required.
